Restoration of bezels
« on: September 23, 2005 - 01:06:28 PM »
I talked with Frank today at nu-chrome and he tells me that they can restor my headlight bezels. Not only re-anodized them to a nice polish but repair the dings , dents and creases. If they can't fix it the can fabricate a new piece. Has anyone ever had this done and if so how did it turn out. He said it's about $150 to re-anodize and then the cost of the repair. With the cost of these things so high this appears to be a good deal and I get to keep the original part.
Mine look like this

I've done business with Nu-Chrome before. Unfortunately, they have to have the part before giving you an estimate. That $150 sounds great, but by the time they get out all those dingers and straighten out that one bezel, I'll bet you'll be looking at a cost that is close to what you would pay for NOS pieces. Hey, if you are really desperate, I have a reconditioned set that I'm not doing anything with.
