    hi,
    the horn on my '70 dart is not working. I think the problem is a ground. The horns are grounded directly to the car, and the horns do work. However, on the wiring diagram i have there is a wire that says "horn ground". The wire has the ground symobol on each end and does not tell where it grounds to, or what it grounds. I think it might be the ground for the horn switch, but do not know where it is supposed to be (steering column maybe?). Thanks for the help, and sorry to get off e-bodys but i cant seem to find another forum that is as good as this one.

    No sweat Steve!!  We like to talk about all MOPARS here!!  Well I'm not sure I have the answer for you as I'm not very up-to-date on the Dodge Dart . . . but I do believe that the e-body cars ground ther horn switch in the column right under the steering wheel.  Someone will be along that will be able to help ya out I'm sure!!

    Steve,
       I'll take a shot here, although I'm an E-Body guy too. If you run a wire from the "+" side of the battery to the horns, do they work(I assume so)? If so, then I would look at your horn relay next. On E-Bodies, that is located on the fuse box. To find the ground on the horn switch, you would have to take the steering wheel apart. That switch could be bad, but I'm sorry I don't have a pic of your steering wheel to offer advice as how to test it. :-[

    I ran a wire from the positive terminal on the battery and the horns did work. When i hit the horn i can hear the relay click, i assumed that this meant it is working, could that be the problem? I did take the steering wheel off and looked around, dont really know what i was looking for. I was also wondering wouldnt the steering wheel itself be the ground for the switch?

    if the relay clicks when the horn button is pushed then the wiring in the column is OK , the switch in th ecolumn just grounds the relay & the horns ground to the body so it seems the relay or the 12V supply to the relay is where the problem is , either the contact in the relay is bad or the high amp powr source to the relay is not sending power to the relay

    ok, i'll check that out when i have a chance later this week. I could probably take the relay off my Barracuda and see if that solves it otherwise i guess i have to start digging a little deeper. Thanks
