I agree, I will be putting mine there, although......
I may find a nice spot in the lower dash area between the drivers side and window where most modern cars have them.  ;D

I wanted mine out of sight.  Glovebox was too far to reach.  I initially had it inside the ashtray on the side, but this was a pain also.  Center console works best for me, it's easy to get to and out of sight at same time.

I got several hits on "mopar trunk release" Also try "mopar trunk electric"

Mine is on its way finally - another seller that requires response from winning bidders in 24 hours. I comply but don't hear anything for a week. Then I get "my computer died, I'll ship it out in a couple of days"  :bs:

If you have a Chally, you are in luck. If it you ar thinking on putting this in a Cuda you might be best to wait and see what has to be done to retain the key release functionality.

I finally got a chance to sit down with this today. It doesnt look like any rod mods need to take place to enable the key feature on a Cuda. The electric release mech needs an arm attached to the actuation slot so the rod can attach to it. I think one can be made from a short 7/16" bolt and a metal "lug plate" about 3/4" x 1.5".

The bolt would need to be tapered to fit in the tapered hole on the release. It would also need to be drilled in the center, and tapped to accept a keeper screw and lock washer on the front side. Then, on the opposite end of the bolt the lug plate could be attached (welded or other means) and a hole drilled to accept the 1/8" actuation rod. Clocking on the lug will be critical as will be the distance from center of bolt to center of actuation rod. the larger the distance the less pivot travel at the release.

It is a simple concept but could take some time to get it right. Has anyone already done this and have an easier solution? I tend to over engineer things sometimes.

I think they are all the same so the junk yards should be full of them. 5th ave ny etc i think if you look at the glove box there should be marks where the button should go!
