Just got her home last night.  Pictures forthcoming.  Steering seemed a tad loose, especially since most of the bushings and ball joints are new.  I'm starting a "Things I gotta buy list".  I guess I'll start with the VIN and see what's missing.  :D

Finally got a few posted, none really good, but you can see she's kinda rough.  Anybody know what intake and carb should be on my 360 ?  From the factory that is  :)  Also, can't find the broadcast sheet, but do have the fender tag,  trying to figure out if she was origionally white instead of red.  You'll probably have to cut and paste the entire link into your browser to see them.

Man, it looks like you have a GREAT car to start with!  Are you going to just fix the things that need fixing or are you going to take it completely apart for a total resto?

BTW, you have an 8 grand tach in there (lucky guy).  I'm pretty sure that didn't originally come with the car.  They only put those in 70's and some early 71's.

Rev,

The tach currently doesn't work, not even sure if it's hooked up.  The panel it's in looks like it may not be original, as you can see I need to adjust it's position.  The previous owner was trying to figure out a no-starting problem when I bought it, ( starts most of the time, sometimes nothing at all ) so the wiring is a bit suspect.

As for the resto, I'll probably just fix the things that need it, but that will mean a lot of taking apart.  I imagine at some point I'll give in and do a total resto.  ;)  There's a lot more bondo than the pictures show.

I just want too say congradualations on your car. I too was looking for several months for a big block e- body. I was ready to go to ohio to look at a t/a challenger, all apart.  (i live in connecticut) then i went to a local car show, and bumped into a freind of mine i havent seen in a very long time, and guess what, he has a 70 R/T for sale, 383 auto. a/c. and many other options. the car is from the south. so i bought it . 5 miles from my house, the car is undergoing full resto.now. hughes engines did the motor which has 525 HP!!!!! Todd,

Thanks for the message.  It seems the closer I look at the car, the more needs to be done.  I'm finding out that a lot of what appeared to be solid sheet metal was patched many moons ago, and needs to be done right.  Luckily I'm getting a MIG welder as an early X-mas present.   Looks like a total resto is in order.  Soon as I verify whether it really is a Numbers Matching car ( not sure yet what all to check ) I'll know how I'm gonna do it.

if you are going to do a total restore with putting it back
stock maybe you and rev can get together and trade tacks.....the build sheet might have been tossed out when they put new carpet in ??? the carpet color looks
different like a custom job.

Mike ,

I'll probably be keeping the Rallye dash as long as I'm driving it, I'll try to pick up a stock one along the way so I can put it in if I sell it.  As for the carpet, I've pulled up the sills and looked under the seats, and it is very dark black under them and looks like a good quality replacement.  Looks to me like the sun has taken it's toll on the rest, giving it a purple kinda color.  BTW, it's getting jerked and replaced.

I figure as I take it apart, I'll pick up replacement parts cheap when I can find them.  Got a driver's side door panel last night for about $50.  I guess that's fair.

Having fun so far !   ;D

Yo !  Mister Moderator,

Now that I have the car, should I start a thread in Cudas and Challengers Galore instead of clogging this forum up ?
