How hard is it to find parts?
« on: October 06, 2005 - 03:13:57 PM »
How hard is it to find parts for 70's cudas? Are there many catalogs for reproduction parts, etc. Do you need a donor car? Any mopar only salvage yards, etc.Asking these questions because I'm new to mopar cars. I'm hoping to do a Cuda after I finish the project I'm doing now. What is the availability of NOS parts. I'm sure they are exspensive but how rare, hard to find. Being from the Mustang side of the hobbie I have never really looked for mopar stuff. Any special or need to have books to be able to identify models etc? Thanks for any info

Whoa, NZ!  Nice list!

Where are you located, 70sum?  In Massachusetts there is a place called High Street Auto, I think in Wareham.  They advertise in Mopar Collectors Guide in the Challenger section.  I believe they do mostly E-bodies.  I've never been there but New England winters are not kind to old muscle cars.

The obvious thing to say is try to find a car that is in as best a shape that you can afford.  The more complete, the better.  Like NZ said, most things are reasonably easy to find.  Have fun.

 Darn guy,
So am I. Too bad I have Chally parts. Many are inter-changeable though. I wouldn't expect too much help from crazy Ray's(LOL). E-Bodies are scarce here. Anything in particular you need? Shoot me a PM.
