Rotisserie Q?

Has anyone taken off their k member while the car is on a rotiiserie? I need to get mine powdercoated and has to be done before it gets painted.

Yes, you can take it off as long as your Rotisserie connects to your frame rails.  You should pulll everything off anyway prior to putting the body on the rotisserie.

Mine are connected to the frame rails and everything that can come off, is off. What I was worried about is the flex in the body because evrything is off and thats one of the major connecting points.

I wouldn't be worried about the flex unless you have some serious inner fender rust or front frame rust.  My car was bolted to my rotisserie using the bumper mounting holes, had my everthing striped off the car, and even transported the car still on the rotisserie.

Be forewarned shatar that if you are going to powder coat the entire car that there is a tar like material between many panels that will melt out when the chassis is in the oven curing phase of powder coating.The oven must reach 400 degrees for powder coating to crystalize. I was going to go do the same to mine, but I backed out of the idea. Good luck.

Hi, Like Hemidog said, as long as the front inner fenders and frame rails are not rusted thin,
you should be fine pulling the K off with it hanging on the rotisserie. Very good question though!!
If structure is in question, I'd set the car top up before pulling it off and then run a nice sized
piece of angle iron across the K's mounting holes , say from the front hole on one side to the
rear hole on the other. That might keep things aligned and help it not sag when you flip it
on its side again. Easy, cheap insurance I guess!   Jeff

Just  mis understood you on that. I powder coated my K member. Before I did, I ground off any old slag and mig welded small crevices to smooth it out. Additionally, I beefed up welds around the mounts and smoothed them out with small grinders. Prepping your K member before powder coating makes a world of difference. I probably put in 20 hours of work on it. But it was worth it.
