But they should have if you have ever watched the hood rise to a different leval than the fenders at speeds well over the posted limit. air catches under the bulge and has no where to go. Seen a charger 73 with the pins off raise to the top of the post!

did the 72' Cudas have them? My car has them but doesnt have the hood pin gusset that ties into the fenderwell and core support. I am thinking it is an aftermarket install

Definitely an aftermarket install Mike. J45 was the fender tag/broadcast sheet code.

One thing you need to remember in the 70's is that most everything was an option and they had a code for it.  Not very many things were standard.

Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

Very good point Flash.
In this highly standard equipment world it's sometimes hard to rememer low optioned cars. When I got my Challenger my 8 yr old daughter wondered how to put down the windows.
