« on: October 17, 2005 - 10:30:39 AM »
Hey guys, before you think I'm lazy I did try searching for this first.  Please post up your pics of various body dolly setups you have tried or used.  I need to take my car of the rotiserrie for a whiile but need to be able to move it around.  Thanks, Tyler

Hi Tyler,
Check out www.musclecarrestorations.com      They have lots of pictures in various stages of
restoration on different Mopes and a good many pics of the cars on body dollies as they're being
wheeled around. You may see enough to give you a good idea of what you want to build for
your project.   Jeff

I built a body dolly just using 2x6 lumber to build a rectangle (long dimension vertical) and then put 6 inch casters on all 4 corners.
Works great. I can roll the body in and out of garage, sideways, spin it, whatever.
It is very handy.

I sized it so the frame rails sit on the top of the 2x6 that runs across the car.
here are some pics.
very crude but works awesome.
I just rolled it out into the driveway tonight for some sandblasting before I replace the rear frame rails.
Yes, I know thats not a mopar on the dolly, forgive me, its a 68 mustang fastback.
however, its sitting between a 74 cuda and a 71 cuda.
just taking time out to build what my youngest son wants.

I fabbed up some casters and bolted them directly to the car. Make sure to get some very sturdy wheels. I tried pnuematic wheels with a 300# rating and that didn't work out. The ones you see in the pics came from Harbor Freight. Not the best wheels, but they work.

I guess so. Would you want an exact replica? They're easy to make.
