Thanks all. It's good to be back. It is a solid car. Never been hit and very little rust.
The story is long. I took the car apart, had it media blasted and moved to the first shop when my oldest was 2. He's almost 9 now. The first guy is a friend of the family and does work on the side. He does excellent work when he has the time. Getting the time was the trick. Some things had progressed slowly, but about a year ago, they found out his wife had leuchemia. He told me that he wasn't going to be able to finish (for good reason).
I then found another guy about that same time and he was going to get it into his shop before last Christmas. He then found out that the building/booth he was running is business out of was sold from beneath him and he had to be out in 30days. More waiting.
He's been trying to catch up, move to a permanent shop, work with the city on permits etc etc.
Fast forward to about 2 weeks ago. He's started to get cought up and wanted to get the body parts (hood, fenders, doors etc) in. We took those in and they were in the first coat of primer during that week. He then wanted the chassis in that weekend (last weekend). We got it in and now the main bodywork is about done. On to much priming/filling/sanding.
As for a time frame... hmmm.. not sure. Wouldn't surprise me if it were within a month. Also wouldn't surprise me if it were longer. Now the hard part is creating a space in the garage. The suspension is ready to go on as soon as the paint is.
Here's hoping.
