« on: November 11, 2005 - 03:28:08 PM »
this is the car that should be in front of my house by the end of the weekend

the engine runs but its not driveable, needs to be rebuilt in a big way

1972, 340 4 barrel 4 speed matching numbers

but the previous owner decided it would be a good idea to put NOS and a new stereo in it, needless to say ive got some work to do

here are the pics

Looks like a perfect project car.  Sure will be a fun car to drive with that pistol grip.

That is a great car Lemur.  There is work to do, but it appears to be a solid piece. It will be a blast to drive with tha big ole pistola grip.  I know you are anxious for it to arrive. I know I would be!...........Oldschool

well the thing with this car is the guy that had it before me was "mister doesnt like to finish one thing before going to the next"

the dash is half crap, the paint was painted over the forest green original color and is now chipping
the seats has those annoying sheepskin covers over really bad seats.
the guy put in a stereo system that is insanely tacky looking(!!!!cut the dash to fit bigger speakers!!!!)
the new headliners nice(no pics)
aparently the carpet is new, but hidious lol and he didnt put any heat/noise insul under it

i plan on making it a white interior, and a hard to desribe paint job(not stock),the 4 barrel is going to be a 6-pack
and in the process of doing this everything will be cleaned up

Lemur, that looks like it's in great shape compared to how a lot of our cars look when we get them.  Should be a fairly easy resto and you'll be having the time of your life!!

So.....2 days left till it arrives?  I'd be bouncing off the walls!

Though it will need work, that car looks like it's in great shape rust wise and should be a relatively easy restoration given the current condition of it.

Definately looks like a great project.  Looks solid.  I like the wheels.  They looks kinda period correct.  Definately love the Pistol Grip.

That bracket maybe was for a 4 speed console.  If you have the fendertag you may see the code for it there.  Was it code C16 for console with bucket seats?

Any how, it'll look great when it's done.  Have fun with it!
1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

Yip, definitely a console bracket C16 as stated above and all console cars came with Buckets C55. :-)
