Need fender decoding help!
« on: November 02, 2005 - 05:34:14 PM »
I'm looking at a 1973 Cuda. I have the fender codes but not sure on a few codes. In particular the A6VW code, I thiink its interior but not sure.

en2
                  H51     J54        M21   R11   V6X   26
                  V1W   U           B41    C16   C56    G35
                  EW1    A6VW  000     C04    148000
                  E44      D34      BH23  G3B   251089

As far as I can tell its a 1973 Barracuda with a 318-2bbl, The original color is Alpine White with a White Vinyl top...that seems weird to me. I'm guessing by the A6VW Code that its reclining bucket seats, not sure about the V but I'm assuming the W mean white interior. If anyone can help me out it would be appreciated. Please note if anything looks like a rare option. The car is black with black interior now, so someone must have done a lot of work.
Thanks
Dave

VW is an odd interior, I would love to see a photo of one if anyone has one?

A - A class
6 - Vinyl Bucket seats
VW - Orange, black and white. I only see VW listed for 1974 though? Could the code be A6XW?

I had the guy check the fender code again. It is A6XW interior. From what I could find, this is white seats, headliner, door panels and armrest??. With the rest being black. Is this a rare color combination?

EW1 - Alpine White paint
V1W- White Vinyl top
A6XW- Black and white interior.

Thanks

Hi,

I would like to know the meaning of a couple of fender tag codes that don't show in the usual decoding lists -
'26' on it's own with no letters
'EN1' & "EN2'
'U' on it's own & when not relating to the 1970 375hp 4V 440

Cheers from downunder

26 - 26" radiator
EN1, EN2 - End of codes, assembly line 1 or 2.
U - Built to U.S. specifications.
