1973 Dodge challenger swap auto to manual???
« on: November 23, 2005 - 07:07:24 PM »
Hello, I plan on changing my trans in my 1973 challenger from a auto to a stick the car has a 383 with a 727 in it now.  I plan on buying a 1973 dodge charger with a 340 and a 4 speed manual trans.  I want to put the stick in my challenger.  My question is will the clutch linkage and pedals from the charger work in my challenger.  I know I will need a different bell housing for the trans to bolt up to the big block and I will need the 4 speed hump in the floor.  Just want to know if this will work.  Thanks and I will be waiting for your replys.

Welcome
I haven`t actually done this swap but B & E bodys are very similar but the rest "should" work , Dodge didn`t make 2 different parts very often & generally used the same parts in B & E bodys , I have used earlier 71 pedals etc from B bodys in E bodys

The pedals should work, not sure about the linkage. You will also need a frame bracket for the linkage which is avialable as a repro.
