fuel pump pushrod for solid roller cam
« on: November 03, 2005 - 02:19:40 PM »
Hello, I am new to the board as this is my first post here. My question is will a stock fuel pump pushrod work with a solid roller cam? I am having much difficulty finding out an answer to this question. Some people have said use a bronze tipped one, then others have horror stories of short lived bronze tipped ones. Some say a stock fuel pump pushrod will be okay. I realize that a steel billet solid roller cam fuel pump eccentric should be quite hard, so why would not a stock rod be okay? Thanks.

I see no reason not to go with the stock pushrod.

I would talk to the cam manufacturer , the dist gear drive cannot be steel  with a billet cam as they 2 metals will eat each other , possibly the pushrod has the same problem
