Im new here and so happy to have found this board.I am one of those jerks that found the car that I dreamed of owning.This year I bought a 70 cuda 340 4 spd from a man who had no idea what he had.The motor is at the machine shop as we speak.Pics to come soon!  MOPAR OR NO CAR!!

 The car is sublime for the moment.According to the fender tag it will soon be a lemonfish. The 340 is an original 70 block and crank, so Im really going to take my time with this one.The interior is white now, and shot. Im going back to original black. I will post pics of the car now and throughout the resto.

 when I say "jerk", I just mean that is usually the reaction I get when I tell the story of how I aquired the car. I found the ad on a website classified out of georgia. When I called the guy he said "How did you find out about the car?! That ad is not supposed to run in print until tomorrow!". Needless to say I took off to GA, paid cash for the car, pulled it home, danced for awhile, laughed and pondered the future of the project. As far as the motor goes, I was going to stroke it until I found the correct steel crank. I am very open to suggestions........roller?

Welcome to the site!  It sounds like you found a very cool car and you obviously have luck on your side.  If you want a good 340 engine build up, check out some of the older tech. articles in Mopar Muscle. (I can't remember the specific issue, but it's the one with the black pro street Roadrunner a school shop teacher built.)  I plan on following the build on my 340, 'cause it's supposed to produce around 480 hp using mostly factory pieces.
