Truck gas mileage problems!

Can somebody help me!! iv got a 85 dodge ram 318 auto with 321 gears!! and im getting 8 miles to the gallon! there has got to be something wrong!! does anyone have a truck simular to mine?? if so what milage are you getting? any tips on what might be wrong?

First . . . is it leaking out somewhere??  Hole in the tank maybe??

Tuning , make sure the carb is set up correctly , look for vacuum leaks , make sure all the igm system is working properly , cap wire rotor & plugs possibly change the coil as well to get maximum spark

4c i checked for leaks i cant find any!! no gas smell!! il try that cc thanks!

Yeah, what Chryco said.
It should be getting somewhere around 12 at least.
Do a compresion test, I find most gas mileage problems are bad valves.
