I have an old "440 Torquer" Intake on my street 440 (780 dual feed holley).  I think its a single plane (has 4 distinct runners).  Would I be better off going with a dual plane such as an M-1? I just have the old early 70s smog heads (I think 345 casting if I remember right) and the purple Cam.

Can any one recommend a decent oil pan?

Mechanical or Electric Fuel Pump?

What are your plans for this car? Strictly street driven, or track? Do you know the gear ratio of the rear end? What I'm getting at is if this car sees mostly RPM's beyond 2500, then the single plane is for you.

I can't help with the oil pan question(sorry).

As for which fuel pump, it is much easier to stick with the mechanical pump, but go to a high volume type to make sure that baby is getting all the gas it needs.

1: Oil pan, Milodon makes a great oil pan..... But there are several companies that make great oil pans.

2: If it's street driven, and you don't want to do any kind of wiring work, splicingfuel lines and such, probably even installing a fuel pressure gauge and regulator, stick with the mechanical (even though I did, I think I got a Hemi pump because that sucker pumped out 12 psi at just over idle and 9 at idle.....).

3: Intakes, again, it all matters on complete drive train and what you want out of it. On my old car I had a Holley Street Dominator intake and a Street Demon 750 plus the Mopar Performance 509 cam.... Plus the Electronic ignition conversion by Mopar and an MSD Blaster 2 coil with Moroso Blue max wires..... Yeah, it ran... But it only had 3.23 gears, I was planning on throwing in a set of 3.55's with a new locker, but hey, it sold (yeah, I miss her).

I always thought the Torker 440 was a great all around manifold, then, a couple months ago, I saw a dyno test, on a fairly mild 440, between the old Torker, and the RPM.
The torker was a couple HP behind, and about 10 pounds of torque behind the RPM, until the torker caught up around 4000, and then passed the RPM, by a few HP, and LBS.
My 440, in my 2.76 geared  Magnum, had a 284/284 Mopar cam, 10 to 1, and a Torker. With the stock converter, I could roast the tires at will in second, and still get 15 plus MPG. Cant beat that.

for the cost of replacing the intake I doubt you will gain enough to be worthwhile , the old Torker is decent ,
 we really need to know what you want tuse the car for as well as the cam you are using to determine what intake would be the best

Challenger - You`ll wish You Hadn`t
