Happy to see and hear of your progress there Glen, however,...............the upcoming winter months are not too favorable as far as MEK's forcast of no wrecks, LOL. A friend of mine owns a shop here locally and he did my Charger and Challenger on the same arrangement (working on it between insurance jobs), he had the Charger 6 months and the Chally nearly 9 months. But hey, he did great work and it cost me a bundle less than what a resto shop would have charged. I have to beleive the restorer's are like part's vendors, they know you need it and want it yesterday so they realize they can charge a bunch more, and although we may b!tch about it we fork over the dough,LOL. Be patient, and just think what that sweet thing will look like when she gets back home ! Congratulations and real happy for you buddy. -Jim

Thanks WSM, That makes a lot of sense and helps while I'll be impatiently waiting for it's return. I actually have plenty to do to keep me busy though, need to get the dash assy ready, the heater a/c unit cleaned up, tested and ready, the bumpers re-chromed and new components lined up, the seats, etc. etc. etc. I have plenty to do yet! Does 5,000.00 sound reasonable to completely ready and paint this? It is getting a new trunk floor, one quarter panel, dents and dings removed, fenders installed everything prepped and painted any color I choose, then I assemble everything else, glass, vinyl top (if I end up going that route), interior etc. That is based on not finding more things to repair that we couldn't see but with the car stripped as it is, we both feel there shouldn't be too many surprises once he gets into it further.  I was going to do the trunk floor but my arm has finally failed and I can't do it. I can do mechanical pretty good but to sit and use a grinder or sander for long periods of time, just shoot me!

Plum, thanks for clearing up my questions.  As for the price, I'd say that's quite reasonable as that is probably around the same rate my neighbor, friend, bodyman will end up charging me with everything I'll have done to the body. (from the work I already had done to a full paint job on the exterior.)  When compared to other rates, the wait is definitely worth the discount!!

Now that's good to hear cause I can't really afford to get into another 10,000 for body and paint work, I really don't want to get in deeper than I could sell the car for later on (if that's even possible). Not that I'm thinking of selling but at least you just have your money someplace else, not spent and gone!

I know what you mean.  With how cheap I bought my car, the shop labor costs, and the great deals I've been finding on used parts have kept me underneath what the current resale value currently is.  I also feel that my budget will keep me behind what the car could potentially sell for when it's a complete, running, driving car.  (not that I ever plan on selling it.)
