Radio repair & suppression capacitor (?)
« on: December 10, 2005 - 07:59:11 PM »
My 70 Cuda has the optional stereo radio. Got the dash speakers redone a while ago and the FM stereo works great, but the AM doesn't work at all. I am trying to get everything functional on the car. Who is the best at working on these Mopar radios? Also need the radio suppression capacitor that mounts on the top of the coil. Know who sells those? I haven't seen a repop of those listed. Thanks.

I believe the cap is not being reproduced.

This could be some help.

You will get an FM signal with a open or even a shorted antenna, though, not a good one.
You will not get an AM signal with a bad antenna, unless the station is VERY close.

Is the noise that you are trying to get rid of the POP or the WHINE? Do you get any noise on AM?
