408/416 Guys, What carb are ya running?
« on: December 20, 2005 - 06:32:38 PM »
What carb are you guys running on your 408 or similar engine?
I am trying to decide which carb to go with for my 10.3 CR Edelbrock head steet 408.

Opinions welcome!

I have to make the same decision in the spring.  I'm thinking a 750 or 800 although I'm undecided on the rest.  Perhaps I'll try a good ole Holley this time as I wasn't thrilled with my last Speed Demon.  If my budget is shot by then I'll try the Edelbrock Thunder Series 800.

I. Would. Love. A. Six-Pack!
But can not afford it and can't save up, need car out of garage ASAP.
According to my budget a four barrel like Holley/Demon/Proform is the way to go.

I'm running a 750 Holley HP double pumper with my E-head 416. Throttle response is very fast. Hits real hard. I'm very impressed with the HP line of carbs. After I port the heads and go to a bigger cam I'll probably run the 950 version.
