I haven't heard any bad things about them yet either. So I'm interested in how this turns out. I still have a 400 block sitting around that I want to someday put in my Duster, and 500+ cubes just sounds about right LOL

I've bought quite a few parts from them for my buddies 440 bulid (see another thread). I've delt with a guy named Brandon every time.  Nice people, don't have the attitude that some smaller automotive places seem to. On parts not packaged by them, they have a no return if opened policy (good & bad, I mean i'd perfer to buy parts from a place that has that policy, but it was annoying when I forgot to check the new timing chain gear against the camshaft before cutting the clear packaging open. Gear was a 3 bolt, cam is a single. It was my stupidity in the first place when I ordered the parts (from them & summit), so it wasn't 440source's fault).  We'll have no problem unloading the Timing chain & gear on ebay, but still.  All I'm saying is check the parts first.

When THEY send you the wrong part though, they are very accomodating to make it right. I ordered 2 rocker shafts from them. One of them was definetly the wrong part, WAY to short. Sent them pictures, & they handled it as I felt they should. They sent me the new one & paid to return the part. I'm still a customer of theirs. I plan on buying from them when its my turn to assemble the block sitting in my garage. So there is the bigger points of my experience with them. anything specific you want to know. oh yeah, only phone orders. I found that a bit annoying, but oh well.

I would seriously look at using a 7.1" con rod in a 500+ engine build

okay cp, the 517 kit that i want says:  Now available with off the shelf flattop pistons! Supply is limited, so call us for details. The 4.250" stroke version of our Platinum Series crank used in this kit has the smaller 2.200" (big block Chevy sized) journals to make block clearancing much easier. In fact block clearancing for the 4.250" stroke crank with smaller rod journals is nearly the same as the 4.150" crank with Chrysler sized rod journals, making this kit hassle free to install, and almost a bolt in deal, just like our 440>>500 kit.    440 >> 512. (4.250" stroke/7.100" rod)..............  so does this look like a nice kit?

Down the road after the chassis is all done, I think I'll be looking into the 400 version of the 512ci kit since I have a 400 block and b body intakes, the long rod version length is 6.760 on the 400 kit, and it has to have oil support rings.

that kit looks great Chargin
the engine would be a lot more durable with the 451 in a low deck block
