Thanks for the responses. This was a help. If my understanding from this is correct, my problem is not with the machine shop that pressed my bearing on - but with the design of the bearing itself. When the machine shop pressd the bearing on, then probably just pushed it till it would not go on any further. So, that seems to be the correct installation procedure. Now, if I were to continue to use the bearingsas installed, I would have to both trim the axle length and figure out some way of re-centering the calliper.
Fortunatly for me I kept the original adjuster rings because I will try and find a new set of OEM bearings and have them re-installed. It is a shame that all the companies that sell these Green-Style bearings (like year-one) do not mention the problems associated with using them.
