I did my own top. Turned out sweet. Had good old mom come over who has sewing experience. My seams (from Year One) run in a striaght line with two 1 1/2in.- 2in. lines under the rear window.

OK, a couple of stupid questions since I'm close to doing my top.

1: Do you have to remove the back glass or just the trim to install the vinyl top?

2: How do the sides attach to where the roof drip rail molding is?

My car was originally a vinyl top car, but it didn't have one when I bought it.  Thx.

Hello,
I sugest removing the windsheild and the rear window, because you are going to want to clamp it down so it doesnt pull up on you.
For the drip rail trim you need to have it off, glue it down real good thru there, then clamp it, let it sit, then come back and trim it along the edge, dont rap it under the edge,

Hope this helps!

Hello,
I have never tried doing a top with the glass in it but im sure that it would be difficult. I havn't had much problems with glass breaking but i did have a windsheild crack once! I have never broke the rear window.  but if you just take your time cutting it and make sure you have it all cut, it shouldnt be a problem.

Well its not very hard to but it back in, you should really have a person help you. Theres two types of sealnt a urithain (spelling?) and a rope type. I have used both. The rope its about the easy but there know to leak, you just on roll that and place it were the window sits and press it down. The urithain applys with a caulk gun and is kind of messy but works great once in but a bare to take the window back out.  If you uses the urithain type make sure to get 3m i found its the best! I have tried napa brand and it very hard to get out! Also it helps to heat the tube up with a torch but dont burn it up just get it hot so it comes out nice! If i do another one in the near future i will post some pictures.....well i hope this helps some.
