Free battery for life
« on: November 29, 2005 - 09:24:18 PM »
Way back in '74 I needed a new battery for my Barracuda.  Went to ESSO (EXXON) and bought an expensive (for then) Red Brute battery.  Came with a lifetime guarantee.  Little did they know that 30 years later I would still own the same car!  I have replaced the battery 5 or 6 times since, all under warantee.  In the early 80's a dealer tried to charge me for the battery saying that the warantee was no longer valid!  Well a few phone calls later, he honoured the guarantee, and I got a letter from head office saying that the warantee was valid in effect forever!
Free batteries for life!

Good battery, good guarantee, good company.

I've had a JC Penny lifetime battery in my '67 SS/RS since 1979. Isn't it great! When JC penny quit the auto business they sold the contracts off to firestone.
The last battery I got they actually offered to buy me out for around $200.00 + the battery! After countless free batteries. I declined.
Just don't lose the receipt! :cooldancing:
