Question for Challenger owners!
« on: July 25, 2006 - 09:45:59 AM »
Hey Everybody!

I'm in a bit of a snag in the Dark Horse project. At the moment I'm trying to make sure I get the bottoms of the quarters in the right location. I'm using my current rear valence to get everything lined up, but it's in pretty rough shape, and therefore suspect.

Here's where you guys come in. I'd really appreciate it if a few of you could measure the distance from the bottom edge of one quarter to the other. Mainly I need the distance from the bottom valence hole in the quarter, that way I can be reasonably sure that mine is pretty close (in case I need to pick up a replacement valence).

TIA!

I would wait till I found an original valance, dented or not, then use it as a guideline.  Some of the aftermarket ones aren't the same and the aftermarkek quarter's are off too. When I put on my quarters, I left the original part that bolts to the valance and welded on to it.

Here's the section I was talking about. It's where the bottom part of the rear valence bolts to the bottom of the quarters.

From bottom hole to bottom hole I get 4'10" on my '73 Chally. I also measured from the bottom of the bolt that hold the shackle to the frame and got 7.25" to the bottom hole & 6" to the center hole. Hope this helps.

I got 4'10" from the lower bolts as well. 6" from the lowest hole to the middle hole and 7.5" to the top. Oh yeah that's on a 70 CHallenger with an original valance.
