    Does anybody have one of those boxes you plug into your cig. lighter that tells you 60ft.-1/8mile.1/4mile,H.P.,and all kinds of info? If you do, how do you like it and who sells it? Please let me know. :dunno: :dunno: :dunno:

    Dave,  I think you are talking about the G-Tech Pro.  They have a website www.gtechpro.com were you can buy it directly for $200.  I am not sure about the performance of it as I am a long way from testing anything right now.  Their website has some cool tryout features....hope that helps.  Ed

    A383---is the box difficult to work with/program?  I was wondering if they are user friendly or if you need to be a Bill Gates type to get it to work.  :cooldancing:  .............Oldschool

    Those are pretty easy to work with, the operation manual is very good. If you can post pictures on cc.c you can handle the g-tech!  :biggrin:

    Extremely easy to work with. Just plug it in, make sure it's secured on the window and make sure it's level. You put it into the mode you want and it starts when you do.

     Has anyone tried taking it to the track to see how close it was to that? That would sure come in handy when doing some tweaking.

    It is supposed to be accurate to within 1/10th of a second when used correctly. I saw a feature on it on one of the muscle car shows and they tested it. It was extremely accurate. They did the 0-60, 1/4 mile, g force, and I believe the 0-60-0 tests.

    I have used the original standard "g-tech" unit.

    I have heard at worst they are a couple tenths and a couple mph off on trap speed.

    I do not know if the quarter mile, speed, and 0-60 are exact but they are really close. Just a few tenths off advertized test numbers in my dakota, conquest and shelby.

    The one thing I found is that they are very very consistant. I get the same numbers every time.

    You cant beat that if you are testing to see if an intake, exhaust, timing etc has done anything to affect your performance.

    You can get an original G-tech on ebay for $25. 



    For that price, who cares if your ET and mph are off a tick... at least the numbers are consistant every time.

    Good cheap tool IMHO.

    I have one and it works great, so far i have only used it checking performance mods on the truck.
    It has run a best of 17 flat. not bad for a 2500 Q/C 4X4.  lol.
