Thought I would post a few pics of the car in progress. In some pics you will see the car originally gomango was at one time painted Red, black, and the last dimwit painted some areas limelight green in places to see if he would like it. Car went thru 3 owners with good intentions but never took the steps needed to complete the car. I hope I am not the 4th. Take a look at the firewall area. Probably at one time since the car sit for so long (since 1997) leaves clogged the vent and rusted an area of the firewall, an earlier owner tried to hide it with bondo, I cut the area out in one pic shown, and cut out a replacement area from another firewall. The area in front of the driver side rear wheel was the same. I cut out the bondo and rusted area and purchased a replacement panel from the Paddock and you can see how I have rough fit it in. I have welding still to do. In the passenger rear qtr close to the drain plug there is a spot about 1 inch that needs a little work, though not bad. Lucky me I have excellent floors, trunkpan and framerails, this is cause the car spent 80% of its life in Vegas. Lots of work still to do, but the body is stripped and doors are on cause I rebuilt the hinges and I wanted to check the clearances. I have everything stripped including the both sides of the hood. I will go back with self etching primer then primer over that before I paint. Still have some finishing out with scotchbrite or sandpaper. I wont paint the outside of the car though, just dont have the skills or confidence needed for that. I am thinking for the underneath side, outside, floors, trunkpans and firewall about 3 gallons of paint. I dont wanna run short on paint and would rather have some left over in cause of flaws or future mishappenings ...god forbid. Currently rebuilding a 69HP 440 for this originally 383 car. Since its an RT/SE I have most of the cool options on the car.
