Help Needed!
« on: July 25, 2010 - 05:03:27 PM »
I'm sure that this question has been asked and answered somewhere on here but I'm a little slow today and my mind just aint working right. Would this combination from a 2007 Magnum Charger fit into a 73 challenger with a current 318 in it.

I have not had the chance to read or get the fender tag yet, (going to get the car next week) and I'm wondering if this would fit. Thanks for any help you might have to offer. I plan on using a http://www.magnumforceracing.com/index2.htm for the front end so I'm wondering if it will help with the install. THanks for any help you guys can give.

The conversion will work for pretty much any car, it's just a matter of buying/fabbing all the right parts to make it go in.  I can't think of the manufacturer, but there is one out there that can sell you pretty much every nut and bolt to do the job.

you will need a computer to run it available from Mopar & other sources , Schumakers has a mount kit , not sure how well the trans fits into the tunnel but that too has been done before

It's all time and money- but it'll fit. I'm unsure about the trans though. I did a 5.7 truck motor in my '73 Challenger. I knew I'd have to cut the tunnel for the 545RFE trans so I went with a 727. You'll have to do a midsump oil pan/ pick up and probably have to do an oil filter relocation to clear the K member. Here's a pic of the 5.7 installed.
'86 D150 - '03 5.7 Hemi, 545RFE
'72 Charger - '08 5.7 Hemi, 904
'73 Barracuda - '08 5.7 Hemi, 727
'73 Challenger - '08 5.7 Hemi, 727
