Question about paint samples...
« on: February 01, 2003 - 02:41:55 PM »
I was at a paint store today to look at the color chips and compare B 5 blue to "Petty Blue".

They had chips of B 5 blue for 1969, 1970 and 1971.
It looked like the shade differed as the years progressed. (got slightly darker).  ::)

The closest color I could see that looked like "Petty Blue"
is a 1972 called "Super Blue" B 3.

My question is: Does anyone know if the 1972 B 3 the same as "Petty Blue"  ???

I also looked at them on the internet at the auto color library, but look completely different when you see them in the books at the paint store!

The Super blue was the Petty blue color & is a  basic blue with no metallic , the b5 is a metallic darker blue
