Light surface rust removal???
« on: January 30, 2006 - 09:19:34 AM »
How are you guys getting to the areas like inside the wiper cowl and the honey comb on the inside of the car?I have some light surface rust, nothing serious but would like to get rid off it while I am restoring. The cowl would have to be pulled apart(too mcu work)?Or just give a good dose of por-15?Ideas?

When I had my car blasted, most of that surface rust will get taken care of.

You can use POR-15 or Zero Rust directly on lightly rusted areas without much concern. By the way, remember that the light rust you see on your car was 35+ years in the making and it will probably take another 35 years to become a real problem.

I thinned out some zero-rust so it was really wet and poured it into cracks...If I couldn't pour it directly, I shot it super thinned through my spraygun into cracks. When that stuff sets up, everything under it is sealed.

Check out www.restorick.com for more information on Zero-Rust. It's available from multiple vendors, including Rick. Rick is great and will give you advice on your project.

Also check out [url]http://autobodystore.com/forum/[url/] for a lot of good information, including information on using Zero Rust.
