Grizzly Man on Discovery Channel
« on: February 03, 2006 - 09:16:54 PM »
Hey all, I just got done watching "Grizzly Man" on Discovery Channel and thought it was quite interesting.  Did anyone else manage to watch it tonight?  If not and you'd like to, it's going to be on again tomorrow night.  Basically, the film documents a man, Timothy Treadwell, who ends up following several grizzly bears throughout Alaska because he loved them so much.  He seemed a little nutty at times, but it's still a good film nonetheless if you enjoy nature.

I caught most of it. Was a very interesting fella indeed. Dying doing what you love  :dunno: I'm still on the fence with that one  :screwy: If doing what I love involves the possibility of dying, I may just take up another hobby  :2cents:

I'm sure he loved those bears and his hobby.  Might have been a better ending if he had the same passion for Koalas.   :cooldancing:   ....Oldschool

Had to be a hard way to go, now if your were chasing bare fuzzy things other than on 4 paws that could be more fun, well maybe, it could be just as deadly too.  :roflsmiley:

Well, you got me all curious about it so I watched it last night. The guy definitely loved what he did as stated earlier. But some mental issues as well. Why that girl kept hanging around with him even though she didn't want to stay, doesn't make any sense.

Saw that on DVD, the guy was a nut job!!

He thought his care for the bears made him invincible.  I am amazed he lasted as long as he did. The only good I see that came of it was he died being where he loved to be.

:iagree:  I still found the story interesting, even though he was obviously battling some intense problems with his mental state.  He just felt more at home outside of civilization....come to think of it, he reminds me of several "mountain men" up in my neck of the woods. :screwy:
