Trimming wheelwell lip

Can you cut the inner wheewell lip down more for more tire clearance?

If you're talking about the front fender on cars that had 15" tires so that the tire wouldn't rub when making a sharp turn, I've heard of people either cutting or rolling back a small section of the wheel lip. When I bought my Challenger in 2004 with the 15" wheels, my car already had a small section cut out from the wheel lip and a corresponding piece cut out of the wheel opening molding. Hope this helps!

the wheel lips on th erear 1/4s can be trimmed back to as narrow as the chrome trim or less to gain tire clearance also , make sure you seal the bare metal after trimming it to prevent rust

yes i was talking about the rears.....so you say you can cut them almost to the wheel trim and then weld the seam back together....

in most cases the seam is nearer the outer body so generally you do not need to weld it just trim off the excess lip

I dont know how wide the chrome trim is???
