Looking for more 70 Challenger parts
« on: December 10, 2005 - 09:16:19 PM »
I am looking for a Straight factory rear valance with no exhaust cutouts.  I am also looking for a 1970 dash pad for a core.  Someone has put a 71-74 in mine.  Please let me know if you have either of these items.  I am looking for a few more pieces.  Please look at the later postings.  jshoop@marktwain.net

JS--also keep your eye out in the "Parts For Sale" section.  You never know when the stuff you need will come floating by.  :cooldancing:   Good luck.....Oldschool

JS, I have a rear valance without the cutouts if your interested. It has 2 small flaws, other than that it's straight, and in great shape.
I can get you more pics if you'd like. As for price $40

Is that rust in in two of the pictures?  Is it easily fixable?  How much would shipping to Maywood, MO 63454 be?

As for rust, I haven't seen the piece in a while so I went down and checked it out, just to make sure. The middle bracket that you see rust on, I sanded for a few minutes and most of it came off easily, still a little left.
Is the piece flawless? no. Is it in nice condition? yes. I'm trying to be as honest as possible. I do not want to deceive you in any way.
I tried to get a better pic of the other flaw. You can see where the small crease is, (the arrows)
I'd say with a little bit of work it would be a mint piece.
As for shipping, I will look into it and get back to you if you'd like.

js, right now I'm trying to find some type of box at my work to ship it in. Kind of a long, awkward piece.
As for shipping, I talked to a friend at work about shipping it through my work, (they deal with UPS on a daily basis, and have an account setup with them), so I may be able to get a slight discount, If I'm able to. I'll try to find out for sure tomorrow, and get you a $

Also, I dont know how much of a rush you are in, and whether this piece is holding you up, or not, but my work is sending me to Cape Cod in a few day for a week, and I'm not sure if I can get my s#!t together by then, with Christmas, and all :pullinghair:. I will do my best, but let me know your situation, and we'll see if we can work something out. Thanks

Hey js, sorry been a little busy. I was finally able to package the valance up. It was a bit awkward because of the convex shape, and the box may not be pretty, but I got the carboard 3 deep, and enough tape to secure a vault, so I know she'll be safe for shipping. As for shipping, I can do it for $30 to Maywood, MO 63454 if your still interested.
I'll pass along a few more pics to show you the flaw up close so you can see it better. Other than that there are no surprises. I've tried to send along as many pics as possible.
Let me know so we can exchange info.    Thanks js

I am interested.  Get me your address and I'll get you a money order sent.  I'm not in any hurry.  If you don't have time to mess with it until after Christmas that's ok with me.  Just let me know.

The valance was great!  Anybody have a windshield in the NE Missouri area?  Mine busted when I was trying to take it out.  I need one but don't know if you could have one shipped.  It would probably be better for me to pick one up.

I would just go down to the local auto glass company and order one!  Should cost somewhere between $100-130.

Anybody have any overhead console parts?  I need either the light switch or the complete light assembly for one.  I would also be interested in odds and ends parts.  I have a couple of these that are incomplete.  Trying to find enough parts to put them back together.   I am also looking for a rear sway bar.
