Thanks for the help.  I can assure you that I know what rice is.  I was just trying to give you a hard time about the spelling of "minot"  I was guessing you ment "minute".  Bad job on my part.

CODY Ricer Burners around here are the ones with the black steelies, eurolights, a fart cannon, and the bleacher for a spoiler. Usually, they have their hats turned backwards and have a young girl in the car with them. But, what makes them truly unique is all the salt and sand on them.  :grinyes:
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

Well there is some fast rice around here. A Nissan 240SX with a turbo kit and that Supra I saw that one time along with a 3000GT VR4. Maybe a couple of Eclipses.

If you go on to the 3000GT/Stealth boards, they dont consider themselves ricers. Matter of fact, they talk about ricers in derogatory terms.

Those 3000GT's and Stealth's with the Twin turbos are nice cars. Pretty advanced even today with AWD, AWS, and Twin Turbos.

My wife's "fun" car is below.  For the numbers people, it's one of only 9 built in that combo....LOL!

3000GT even with the twin turbo if you dont put atleast 5k or more into them there still pretty slow.

Define pretty slow????   high 13's out of the box is not too shabby in my book, and they handle like they are on rails. High 13's is better than most small block e-bodies run, especially in stock trim, and with AWD, the launch is an eye opener. In all reality, they are not drag race cars, with all the extra weight of the AWD and AWS. (I think they weigh around 4K lbs) They are excellent touring cars.  I've seen 3000GT's with way less than $5K mods run low- mid 11's, and they enjoy decent aftermarket support.  Biggest problem with these cars is breakage, with mods they like to break stuff, and it's not cheap to fix em.

Again, not a drag car, but a nice touring car.

The guy I know here intown with a White Twin Turbo 300gt runs 13.7(14)'s in the 1/8 mile.  maybe its just his driving i dont know.  I just was judging by his scores

hemi71 I didn't mean any offense to you. I was just talking about the cars around here. Yes, they are quick for what they are but, like you said they do like to break things especially in the driveline. That 3000GT I saw was not tasteful to say the least. Two huge coffee cans out the back, black steelies, purple tinted windows, a busted front bumper and all dirty (it was a white car). That's why I called it a "ricer." A lot of car runs around like that but, they also have the 4ft wing on them. Now the car you have below is not what I call rice. I myself considered one and probably could of bought a VR4 Spdyer a few moons ago but, after reading the cost of parts and how easily things can break in the drivetrain on the forums I passed and bought my Challenger not long after. Anyways, thanks for the pictures. I love the "stock" look of a VR4 and Stealth. Maybe some rims but, nothing too big. Anyways, that's just my opinion.

That one is kind of pricey at $41k but, well worth the money from what I can see and having only 7k miles on it.

Those spyders are rare cars by any standard...i like the way they look. Kinda pricey at 41K...but new they were 75-80K!!  I think our stealth stickered for 35K...in 1991.

No offense taken there Dak...the way some of the 3000GT/stealths are modded, I'd say they are rice also!  Just depends on how and what was done to the car. I just think it's pretty intresting that most of the owners of those cars dont consider themselves "ricers" or tuners or whatever else you'd want to label them.

You are correct, start modding these cars and the repair bills can get extensive. We drive ours conservatively, it's really used as a nice cruiser/nite out for mom and dad car. It's something i dont mind leaving in the mall parking lot, which is no place to leave my 70 cuda!

Excloud...you sure thats a TT??  If it is, it is either a very sick puppy, or the driver does not have a clue how to drive. Tire spin on these cars is non-existant unless they are heavily modified, so as long as you can shift the trans with any kind of skill, low 14 second quarters are easy, and high 13's are easily attainable. something is VERY wrong for those times.

BTW Dak...where is that spyder from...it looks like it has PA state inspection stickers on it????

hemi71,

Of course they're a bargain at that price. Well, okay maybe not at $65k. But, anyways they are both darn nice cars and very well taken care. If it was me, I would keep those cars. The Ferraris are nice but, I hate to see how much parts for those cost. Heck, even normal maintenance parts.
