I don't have one on my '72 340 but tinkered with the idea since it's already at 8.5:1 compression (enigine still stock, never taken apart.). Here's a reply I got back from Bob at
http://www.thesuperchargerstore.com/Hope this gives you a little info. The reply was a couple of years ago so the prices/info may be a little different now.
I do not believe a car with an 8/71 build date is a left over 71 model, so your compression ratio should be just fine. The engine has a lot of miles but if it is in good condition the supercharger will not adversely affect the longevity. The Thermoquad carburetor is a problem though. You will need to use a Holley with mechanical secondaries. The boost is changed by changing the driven pulley on the supercharger. You should have no problem achieving 400 horsepower. The price for a P-1SC for your small block is $2696.00. Power steering adds $400.00 for a new Saginaw power steering pump with remote reservoir and new hoses. Power brakes adds $50.00 for a check valve for the power brake vacuum hose. Thank you for your interest in our product. Bob
