What paint to use on Radiator, Horns, Brake Booster? Same?
« on: February 08, 2006 - 12:57:03 PM »
I'm tring to paint the brake booster, radiator, horns, and oter items in the engine bay. What paint should I use? I know the brake booster has to be high temp paint, maybe even the radiator? Thanks

You might want to check out Eastwood's web-site. I bought radiator paint from them. You are correct in that it is heat resistant and won't clog the fins. They have other paint too.

 :iagree:

Just got their catalog in the mail the other day, and they sell everything you need.

They are quick, painless and they don't hassle you about returns. :woohoo:

I guess it depends on if you're going for OEM restoration or just a good looking finish. Believe it or not, I've had great success with regular Krylon spray paint that I purchased from Wal-Mart. With proper surface prep, it does the trick. It dries quicker than Rustoleum, is much cheaper than Eastwood and comes in a decent variety of colors. Flat, Semi & Gloss black, bright and dull silver and metallic plus bright colors I've used for my engine and dip stick pulls.  I've even used it in 'high-temp" areas such as my engines and on brake calipers without any problem.  The only thing I've used Eastwood for is special coatings, like the wrinkle finish or cadmium plating.
