Car security at Carlisle?
« on: February 15, 2006 - 11:08:48 PM »
Hopefully my 71 Cuda will be done in time to make it to the "SHOW" this year.  I was just wondering about security for the cars at night.  Do you leave them at the fairgrounds or do you take them back to the hotel?  Just curious...

We take the cars back to the hotel where we have a parking lot all to ourselves.  I felt pretty good about leaving my car out there.  So I would say that security is pretty good!   I understand that you are allowed to leave your car at the show if you like . . but I would think it would be a pain in the A$$!   :bricks1:

We left ours there one year (at the show grounds), but it was a bummer asking someone for a ride back and forth, I know that is what friends do but still felt bad about asking. Now if we had no car to drive it would have been an all together different situation, we had a couple that flew in last year and they just kind of got into a car of choice for the day..............pretty neat and a good way to meet and talk with different members each day. As far as security goes, the way these guys party until mid morning after the show, the "crooks" fall asleep waiting for them to go to bed, no problem.  :faint:  :clapping:

If you leave your car at the show you can't have all the fun of the "after-show" in the hotel parking-lot when everyone shows everyone everyones car :dogpile: and talk about them until they all pass out in the parking-lot

That is good to know. I really hate to have to bring my security system, Tony Bagadonuts from New Joisey with me.  He just eats way to much and I don't need that cigar smoke in my new interior...lol

We left the hemi on the show feild one night, locked the car and put the car cover on and it was fine. We usually bring back the car to our campspot though and sleep right beside it. Car security seems pretty good up there though
