The 70 wing angles down more, while the 71 wing swoops back.

From what I have been told, they use the same mounting feet and hardware. So we would simply need to swap the wings themselves. Here is a pic of my 70 wing.

thanks for the pics. I'm learning something about these cars everyday.
From the pics I think the '71 wing looks a little nicer.
By the way, anyone know what angle degree the '70 wing is supposed to adjusted to?
Maybe it's a dumb question :dunno:

I doubt that there's any actual setting. They are adjustable so I would think you place it where it performs or looks best.

First place Auto sells a beautiful repro that's licensed by mopar. i bought a 71 gull wing for my 72 with all the mounting hardware, underlid brackets, etc. everything you need to put it on the car for 399.00 and it's really a sweet piece.   dave

They look nice when painted to match too.
The 70 style wing is referred to as a "go-wing" and the 71 style is referred to as a "gull wing". There are two versions of the go-wing available. An earlier reproduction cheap version with plastic stanchions and the newer reproduction that is much higher quality and has the aluminum stanchions. I've bought several from FPAP and I've been happy with them all. I always buy the 71 style for all of my 71 up cars. I only use the 70 style on 70 cars.

Just for the record, 1970 wings were also factory installed on many early built 1971 cars, I've seen cars with build dates well into November of 1970 wearing factory installed 1970 wings. So, that being said, "technically" either one is correct for 1971, but only the early 1970 style would be correct on a 1970 model year car.

*If anyone else wants to trade, I also have a MINT original 1970 style wing that I'd trade for a 71 style in equal condition, I sold the 1970 car mine was destined for and now have a 71 car I'm building.
