Interior Rear View Mirror Glass
« on: March 09, 2006 - 01:04:20 AM »
I am restoring my interior review mirror and noticed that the mirror itself is losing it silver.  Has anyone replaced or had their mirror resilvered.  I don't think this is something that can be reproduced by a local glass shop as the glass itself is cut on an angle.  Any help or advice would be appreciated.

I had a scratch on mine and was told by a glass shop the could not fix it or replace it because of the day-night glass.
Might be you just need to replace that piece.

I've never heard of anyone having a mirror re-silvered or anything like that. They do pop up on E-Bay occasionally, so I'll keep an eye out for you.

I will try to find the number of the place that resilvered a rear view for a Mach I I restored for one of my customers. I was impressed with their craftmanship.

Fishn,

Thanks for the info.  It sounds like a great price. Finally a restorer that I can afford. I bet if he finds out it is a Cuda mirror the price will triple...lol  Thanks again, Ed
