1971 tail panel black out
« on: February 26, 2006 - 02:49:02 PM »
I know that on 1971 R/T challengers the tail panels and the piece the taillights fit through are painted black.  My question is where does the black stop in trunk direction? does it fill the trunk channel or just stop right where the trunk lid closes? :dunno:

I'm not sure I understand your question, but the trunk is painted black inside if that's what you mean.

I understand your question Stacked and I have one I'm painting as well so I also need to know.  Good question, I'm sure someone around here has pictures of the correct paint lines on the body beneath the deck lid (by the weatherstrip).  ;)

They were all masked by hand, so they vary quite a bit. That said..................
