Update
« on: February 25, 2006 - 02:32:17 PM »
Hello everyone. Have some new photos. The first one is where I left off last time, just a different angle. (Notice the 67 Camaro SS396 in the background.)

The next few shots were taken a few days ago, after it was blasted. Well, it turns out that someone did a quicky restoration before: New quarters on top of a Swiss cheese trunk. Total bondo bucket. There is also quite a bit of rot where the vinyl top chrome trim attached.

The last photo is of my motorcycle. The guy who is painting the Barracuda (black) painted the RC51 Ferrari red. Hope it turns out as nicely. The bike certainly gets a lot of attention. In fact, I caught a guy pretending it was his once. Three girls gave him their numbers by the time I returned. Can't imagine what this Cuda will net!

That'll be a nice car when all the work is done. It'll take you some time, but the effort will be well worth it

4C- What are you trying to say? My goal of getting it on the road by next weekend is too lofty?

70RT- That's what I keep telling myself. All the setbacks get to me at times.

NZ- Absolutely not!!!

PP- I might also restore my 1975 Dodge B200 "Scooby" van. I'm thinking metalic cherry red, side pipes, Cragar S/S wheels, and the go-wing from the Cuda... oh and that nasty 383 that no longer has a home. (Good thing I have a BB 727 case around somewhere.)

Great looking project you got going. I can relate to your different problems as I needed to replace the lower quarter extension, outer wheel houses, floor pans, inner front fenders, panel below the rear window, and the panel below the rear tail light that the bumper mounts to on my 71 Challenger RT 2 years after I bought it. When I bought the Challenger it had just had a quarter put on and new trunk floor along with a complete paint job just so someone could turn a fast buck. Keep us posted on your progress.

Good to hear, I'm not a fan on vinyl roofs although some cars suit it.

Oops. I got moved. I'm always doing something wrong. At least that's what the cops say. In my defense, I still feel like a newbie.

71/340- Thanks for telling me what was up w/ your Chally. Both your cars are inspiration. (I noticed that there's only one seat in the Cuda.) I'm hopefully less than a year behind you!

NZ- You're right. It works on some cars. However, I always seek simplicity. That’s sort of why I posted a pic of my motorcycle. If you’ve ever seen an RC51 from the factory, you’ll know what I mean when I proclaimed that there was a good looking motorcycle under all that busyness.  Looking (or was that drooling) at Lucy, I think we have similar taste.

O/S- Thanks!
