duplictae my Fender Tag?

This is a long ways down the road for me but the question came up if I should get a duplicate fender tag and keep the original one tucked away for safe keeping. I will have a full blown restoration and don't think the car will be out of my sight very often but there will be times.

Is it a good idea to get a duplicate made?
How many of you have had it done?
Or am I just

I just did exactly what you are thinking. My original was a little rusty but cleaned up nicely. I opted to have it duplicated because everything else has been total refurished. I will keep my original in a safe place along with my broadcast sheets just to be sure I know where they are. DataTags.com did a wonderful job on mine.  All I had to send them was a photo of my original. Total price $50 plus shipping.

Take a pic of it, and also a pencil rubbing of it. That way if something happens, you'll have the proof to get one made up.  To the best of my recollection, I've never heard of anybody having one stolen at a show. If it was a original hemi car, i might think about it.
