Well considering all that's been discussed, at $499.00 it's probably a good investment for the future should you want to keep a spare around or simply can't find an original for less than 10 million dollars

The only thing that I would be worried about and no offense intended here, is the fact that he has mentioned that he's having problems with the mold and that is why he's selling out. If I were to order one today, would it be one of the ones that he made well before he noticed that they weren't coming out right or is it one that he made during the time that the mold wasn't working right? Just a thought.
I would love to buy one since I have the components to complete one to use as a spare, but...?

Yep, which is why I made the earlier comments I posted. If you don't have any other alternatives, $499.00 is what you'll be gambling in hopes of getting something usable that performs.

I just got off the phone w/ the company. The owner is going to call me back w/ the shrinkage #'s and type of mold they are using. I asked why the dump. they said the process is very labor intensive.. so they would like to move on to other projects. the price drop was to get people who were on the fence about getting a spare or one for aq clone to buy before they stop altogether... instead of just making them as people stroll along. In other words create the market by dropping the price.

They said their stock is dona already.. really big response. So if I wanted one.. you pay & get on a list.. 1st come 1st serve. They said shipment currently is < 2 weeks. All stock is out. I think the "bad mold" theory is baseless. JMHO

I'm buy'n one for a spare. Christ my car does see extreme temp changes or direct sunlight for any period of time.. and they can't be any more brittle than the originals.

There's your answer -Cast resin RTV tool, the only type that requires a ton of time and labor

I hate to sound pessimistic, but I have cabinets of reproduction stuff that just wasn't good enough. It's stuff that I don't want to use (or couldn't use), but have spent good money on and hate to throw it away. I had hoped to see one of these grilles at one of the big shows showing that all of the trim fits correctly. I'm not incredibly picky, but I'm tired of stuff that just doesn't work. As soon as I see a repro 71 grille that works, I'll buy it.

What the heck, I've only posted this flyer about 100 times & nobody read it, so once more is no big deal.  :grinno:

I just saw an ad on e-bay for repro 70 cuda bezels ($175.00). I would have attached the link, but i don't know how!
The e-bay name is "trapaga57". According to the ad the pieces would have to be sanded, drilled etc... to fit.
The parts are located in PA, so it might be from the same outfit that produced that ad.

Old Moparz,

I've seen that flyer to (it's what? Like 2 years old?) I have yet to see what it's advertising actually materialize into a part that's available.

I got a pair of the fiberglass repro 70 cuda headlight bezels from trapaga on ePay; also Paddock is selling them.  They are very rough, and will need a fair bit of sanding, priming and paintwork before they drop in.  They are thick as heck and appear very durable though...  I haven't done anything other than look at them and close up the box and put them on the shelf.  They are my spares...

I bought one of the console doors from L&P - was very happy with the quality.   Might have to contact them about their grills...
