73 Challenger Unibody wieght ?
« on: February 19, 2006 - 11:01:09 PM »
Can anybody tell me what a 73 Challenger uni body weighs? No doors, fenders, trunk/hood, glass, interior, bumpers, etc... Rear end and front k member with all suspension and steering column only things still attached. I'm looking to mount it on a rotiserie and need to know weight for proper model selection. Anyone have any experience using a rotiserie with a e body? Any suggestions or comments about the ebody/rotiserie combination? Suggest best brand of rotiserie? I'm looking at the Bottoms up rotiserie and it sure looks like a nice piece of equipment. Any one used 1 of these? Thanks for any advice, help and/or insight.

my 74 cuda weighs about 3600 lbs, as driven on the street.
So figure 800 lbs or so less minus the drivetrain, minus another 1000 lbs for interior, fenders, glass, etc.

I'd think you'd want at least a 2500 lb model
Buy bigger, its safer and stronger.

If i buy jackstands for my 3600 lb car , I pay extra and get the 3 ton jackstands, instead of the 2 ton.
Better to spend the extra $$ , and have a margin of safety.... I'd rather spend the extra $15 and not be scared to wrench under the car.
74 'Cuda + 73 Charger Rally + $$ + assembly= Noble M400
 03 Ram Hemi 4x4
 78 Aspen Super Coupe
