Differences in console tops
« on: March 26, 2006 - 04:30:31 PM »
What is the difference between the four hole and five hole console tops?  Were the four speeds all five holers and the autos four or was it a year to year diiference?  Do the four speed bases have the extra screw hole?  I have a four hole automatic console and need to switch to a four speed top.  My console is a later year one because it has the ashtray.

The 4 screw holes were a 70 only item.

Mine has an ashtray but is a four holer.  I thought 70 consoles had a seat belt holder and no ashtray.  I'll have to look at it again!

You are correct. Possibly someone put a 4 hole plate on a later year console. That's what I did.  :grinyes:
