Newb in Houston
« on: March 06, 2006 - 10:42:42 PM »
Hi everyone.  I'm new here.  I currently reside in Houston, TX.  My current car is a Comp. Orange '04 Cobra that ran 11.8s at 120 all night long last time I took it to the track.  I've since put in a solid axle and some other little stuff and would guess it'd crack off 11.5s now - it's my daily driver.  My first car was a '70 Challenger that I restored over a course of 3 years.  From the factory it was a Sublime 318/auto S.E. with a black top and interior.  When I got it, it had a 383/727 and some R/T badges, but was quite rusty.  It got new quarters, rockers, door skins, trunk floor, driver side floor, roof skin, and hood.  Long story short I made it a 383 R/T clone, with a 18 spline Hemi 4 speed, and 8 3/4.  Sublime green, no vinyl top or S.E. trim., front and rear spoilers, shaker hood, black bumble bee stripe.  I sold it and have been punching myself ever since, so I'm back in the market and if I find something, my Rustang will have a new home.  I prefer E-bodies, but I'm checking out B- and A-bodies also.

Welcome to the site SublimeRT. Your Challenger looked like it was one nice ride. Know and then E-body cars are for sale on cc.com so watch for them. I have checked on a few leads on mopar's but most turn out as pretty bad cars in need of more than I could afford. Good luck finding what your wanting.

Nice Challenger and 04 Cobra. Im a huge fan of the 03/04 cobras, so I have to ask you what all you have done to it. Im assuming that since you run 11s, its at least pullied, reprogrammed, and has an aftermarket exhaust. Anyhow, thats a pretty rare cobra you have there....dont see many orange ones, especially 40th anniversary editions.....

Thanks for the welcomes.  Killer_Mopar - My Cobra has a 2.93 BilletFlow pulley and all idlers, Diablo Predator Tuner, tuned by James at Runnin' With The Devil, K&N CAI, Magnaflow catback exhaust, MGW Shifter, Kirkey seats and a rear seat delete, and a solid rear axle with 3.73s.  The night at the track when I ran 11.8s every run was with the old stock Independent Rear Suspension.  My Cobra is 1 of 281 Competition Orange Cobra Coupes made in '04, so it's somewhat rare.  More rare than the Mystichrome Cobras even.  It'll be for sale as soon as I find a good project Mopar......

There were two orange coupes at my local dealer back in 04 and I loved them. The mystichromes are nice because they have a 'real' paint job, but they just arent for me. Someday I plan on getting an 03/04 cobra coupe in either orange, sonic blue, or black. Anyhow, nice car
