Hi - Po manifold.
« on: April 04, 2006 - 04:08:18 PM »
Does anyone know if a Hi - Po manifold for a 340 will interchange with a standard manifol. I.e. can I just swap them or is the outlet geometry different?

Thanks
Dave

Hee-hee,
That's a good stumper. I don't know, but my vote is that you can just swap them. I would think that would be a pain for them if they had to install different exhaust pipes at the factory. Keep in mind, I'm just guessing here.  :grinyes:

Yeah I was just curious, I have a Hi - Po manifold home for the drivers side, and was gonna refinish it and put it on. Just Curious if a muffler shop had to get involved..lol. Any ideas on how to refinish it, powder coating?? just sandblast?

Eastwood has Exhaust manifold paint that I *HEARD* was good. (Wish I knew for sure. Theres allways the auto parts store..... :woohoo:
The manifold will simply bolt on the head without problem. But the exhaust tube may need a shop to hook up.

I`m sure the outlet is different between the manifiolds on your car now & the Hi Po manifolds partially because you have headers now

 :grinno:

I thought at first you were talking about the intake manifold!  I was really curious about this super secret hi-po intake manifold versus the 2bbl 340 intake.   :roflsmiley:  Thought it would be something like a conversation about the legendary 440 Hemi or the HP2 block...

yeah I knda figured that , I still know that the outlet position is different between the 2 , the right manifold is far lower & the left is higher up
