OK,
I don't mean to laugh, but usually they go for $30-$50, depending on condition. If you are REALLY desperate, I give you this.  :22yikes:  :22yikes:  :22yikes:

Maybe Laysons is making them for Year One...would explain why I have been waiting on them for over a month.

Dan,
I'm just curious, are the hood and tail panel letters the same size? Are they inter-changeable? I'll keep an eye out for you.

MEK,

The letters are different between hod and tail.  The hood letters are flat and the tails are thicker on the bottom to take into account the curved tail panel.  I appreciate you offering to keep a look out for them.  Mine are in decent shape but have the 30 year old look.  I could chrome them but the faces of the letters are supposed to have a brushed finish.

Has anyone heard anything about these recently?  I ordered a set from Laysons at the end of October 05 and I kept getting the "they're on back-order" story.  They said that it is a small mom-pop business that reproduces them.  My last question was if they had any interaction with this business to know when they might be making a run of these.  No answer.  Seems reasonable.  What if that little business went out of business and didn't tell anyone?

So I've been trying to call Laysons the last couple of days to check on these again and all I get is a ringing line.  No answer, no message, no nothing.  Are they still around?  Do they answer they're toll free number?

I really need a set to validate the hole locations on my hood before paint goes on.

Ron.

Thanks,

That is really good info.  I think the holes I have are pretty close (they had been welded up by previous owner) and were based on the welded holes and a traced template from another hood.  I just want to put a set of letters in before it is painted to make sure there aren't any odd angles.  Easier to fix it now than later.
