I think I have the 72 to 74 code book at home... I can check a little later for ya.
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

Hey, CODY -

L2 - my book doesn't show this code;
( Sure that's the code? Sometimes a lot of paint on the fender tag can make the codes look like something they're not. Look on the backside of the tag - code will be mirror-imaged, but at least it's easy to read)

G75 - Dual O/S painted mirrors, LH remote, RH manual

G65 - RH O/S mirror manual, painted, racing

G55 - LH O/S mirror remote, painted, racing

Hope this helps!

I dont know what to make of L2....options are a letter followed by 2 numbers

The G75, G65, G55 are for outside painted mirrors, G75 codes as LH remote, RH manual dual O/S painted mirrors, G65 is RH manual painted mirror, and G55 is LH remote painted O/S mirror.

L2 would be some kind of light option. Your either missing a number before the 2 or after.

For 1974 Hamtramck changed line coding, where they had previously used EN1 or EN2 to note "End of Codes, assembly line 1 or 2" it became L1 and L2 respectively.

T/Ake care,
Barry

does anyone know what code A6X3 is? I know a is for a class and 6 is for vinyl buckets but I dont know what x3 is.
also V5x means Black - Mouldings - Protective Insert Body Side. What does that mean? I want to know the original color of my interior.
Thanks

A6X3 = Black Vinyl Bucket Seats (Don't know this one, don't have a code book).
I've always thought P (Premium) and H (High) were for class. Maybe A is for Average Price class?  :dunno:
Someone will know for sure. JS27, hemi71, FY1 or Barry will know.
The 3 I am not sure of either, maybe some kind of insert. They are definitely Black vinyl seats though.

V5X = Black Body Side Moldings (You were correct).

Here is a photo of my car before resto with them on.

Cheers,

A is trim grade - A class.

I do not see an X3 color code listed for 1974, could it be Y3?  :dunno:
