Hellwig front sway bar install question

I'm trying to get the Hellwig front sway bar installed. I'm having problems getting it to fit. The end link side of the bar seems to close to the control arms.

The cartoon picture instructions are worthless.

There is a slight bend in the bar as it goes over to the end links. Does this get installed so it is bending up or down toward the end link?

My lower control arms dont have the factory end link brackets. If it did, it probably would only fit in one way.

Does anyone have a pic of how a factory bar fits in. Thanks

I don't have access to a digital camera (I refuse to jump both feet into the digital age) but I can tell you the front sway bar is installed so the ends of the bar point up.

Thanks for confirming that Basement. I think the pic in the instructions is showing it pointing up also, now that ive looked at it long enough.

How well does that one attach to the frame of the car?  I started to install a front bar once (a loooooooooong time ago), and thourghly un-impressed with how it attached to the frame.

It attaches to the same location on the K frame as the factory bar setup that Ive seen. Instead of the U shaped bracket that the factory uses, the kit comes with a 1/4" thick flat plate.

Where it gets goofy is the bracket that it comes with for the LCA. So I'll be throwing that away and making a bracket out from some 1/4 thick 2"x4" steel tubing. Then welding it on to the LCA.
