Being a avid boater also I use a product called Never Dull.  It works great for stainless steel rails and I also use it on my bumpers, polished aluminum valve covers and silver jet-hot coated ceramic headers.  It is a sort of looks like wool and you just use small wads of it and wipe.  Great stuff and it works well.

Forgot about that stuff, comes in a blue round tin can right? I've used it lots in the past and remember it being pretty good, no idea as far as protection goes though.  :clueless:

Yup that is it. And it says MAGIC on the label so it must be a secret formula...lol.
